RFid is an abbreviation for Radio Frequency Identification and is a method for automatic identification through radio signals or radio frequency identification. It is a technology used that allows the identification, tracking and management products and documents from individuals and even animals without contact and without the need of a visual field. This technology can be applied in retail, logistics, industry, health, social economy, among other areas.
There are several methods of identification, but the most common is to store a serial number that identifies a person or an item in a chip, which is connected to an antenna (the chip and the antenna together are called as RFid transponder or RFid tag). The antenna enables the chip to transmit the identification information to a particular reader, and this will convert the reflected radio wave from the RFid tag into digital information that can then be transmitted to a computer system, and use that information according to the existing needs.
