Nonprofit Organizations (NPO’s) are facing enormous difficulties regarding to tracking and tracing goods and clients.
- Tracking and Tracing Clients
Focusing on the elderly population, which is increasing exponentially, and especially those who has dementia or other associated diseases, does not have the appropriate orientation capabilities which could result in dramatic situations if they move outside of the organization (for example: nursing homes) without any professional guidance.
Through RFid technology it’s possible to guarantee the detection of the presence of the elderly (or other type of population like children), control the entry and exit points of the buildings and provide their continuously monitoring culminating in very high security standards, not only for those who have the responsibility to ensure the safety of the elderly, but mainly for the elderly itself.
Despite this technological solution, usually applied in the business world, there is no obstacle in being applied to individuals. RFid technology can be applied in the home of the people who has orientation difficulties (or other cognitive difficulties that inhibit correct carrying out their daily tasks) and in need of constant monitoring carried out by their families.
- Access Control
You can also ensure that access to the building is properly controlled and restricted only to those with proper access authorization, allowing further increase the security levels.
- Tracking and Tracing Assets
The RFid technology enables you to find goods like laptops, equipment of nursing homes like secretions cleaners, oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators, heart monitors, etc., adjustable beds, clothing, bedding, towels, etc...
Concerning clothing, it’s possible to implement a tracking and tracing system base in RFid technology. The NPO’s are faced with two major problems: misplacement and the loss of clothing. The main reason is due to the fact that the identification method is not the most appropriate. Through RFid technology this problems can be solved by avoiding constraints for employees and NPO’s, but mainly for their clients. When placing an RFid tag on each piece of clothing and placing antennas in the appropriate locations, proper tracking and tracing of all clothing of the wearer is guaranteed. RFid tags can be placed in the cabinets of the clients making them "smart cabinets". If a certain piece of cloth is placed in a cabinet of a client to which this same cloth does not belong to him, immediately triggers an alarm. In this way, the employee can be informed in real time and correct the situation.
